Excalibur Recall Notice For all C2 Crank Cocking Aids

Dear Customers,

As Dealers of the Excalibur brand, Archery Source has received an important notice to customers who are owners of the Excalibur 538 or any Excalibur equipped with the C2 Crank’s cocking aid. 

Please Read the Below Notice that we Received from Excalibur.


In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”), Excalibur Crossbow, US, LLC (“Excalibur”) is recalling the detachable C2 Crank Cocking Aid. The C2 Crank’s cocking hooks can break during use, causing flying plastic hook projectiles, posing impact injury and laceration hazards to the user and bystanders. Specifically, Excalibur has received 538 reports of the C2 Crank cocking aid hooks breaking during use, causing flying plastic hook projectiles,

posing impact injury and laceration hazards to the user and bystanders, including one injury where a consumer reportedly suffered a permanent eye injury.

Please immediately stop using the recalled C2 Crank, and contact Excalibur to receive instructions for receiving free replacement rope and hooks.

You will be instructed to cut the rope of the recalled C2 Crank, to remove the hooks, and to submit a photo of the destroyed C2 Crank. After providing photographic confirmation of destruction as instructed, please dispose of the
destroyed rope and hooks. You will receive replacement hooks, replacement rope, and instructions for changing the rope and hooks on the C2 Crank all free of charge. If you are not comfortable changing the rope and hooks, we will
provide a free shipping label via email for you to return the product for repair free of charge.

This Recall Notice applies to the Excalibur Crossbow’s C2 Crank Cocking Aid. The model (MFG) part number is 2199 and the UPC number is 6 26192 02199 1.
